# Penny Home WhatsApp Bot — privacy notice

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Penny Home is Denroy Knight’s personal smart-home messaging integration. It is intended for the owner and people the owner explicitly authorizes.

The bot processes your WhatsApp phone number, profile name where supplied, messages you send to the bot, and message delivery information. Homey processes these messages to register authorized users, respond to configured commands and send configured smart-home notifications. Depending on the command or notification, messages may contain information about smart-home device states.

Messages sent to the bot pass through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Cloud API and Homey’s connection service to the WhatsApp Bot app running on Homey. Those providers process information under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. This notice does not apply to ordinary WhatsApp conversations outside this bot.

The bot is intended for personal home use, not advertising. Only approved numbers should receive access. Do not send passwords, payment details, medical information or other information unrelated to controlling or checking the home.

The Homey app stores connection credentials and registered users. Meta, Homey and WhatsApp may retain messages, account information and service logs under their own policies. This notice does not promise deletion of copies retained independently by those providers.

To request removal of your bot registration, stop notifications, or ask about information held in this personal integration, contact Denroy Knight at denroy@denroyknight.co.uk. Removing registration does not automatically delete provider logs or messages already delivered to WhatsApp.

This notice describes the WhatsApp bot only. Access to the Penny Home dashboard remains restricted separately.
